It&#8217;s the place where your emotions originate, including fear, pleasure, anger, hunger, sex, and dominance.<\/p>\n<p>When we decide to begin mindfulness meditation, we have a desire to at least temporarily release us from limbic responses.<\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s important to begin by relaxing and letting strong emotions and any reptilian thoughts slide away.<\/p>\n<p>While lizards are always &#8220;in the moment&#8221;, its not exactly what we mean by mindfulness!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>All animals have brains.
