20 minutes? 30 minutes? An hour?
Like everything in life – it depends.
When you learn deep mindfulness meditation and practice it for several weeks, you’ll discover that your meditation is powered by your mind… that’s YOUR mind. It’s nothing external that’s creating the deep restful state. It’s not magic. It’s not a gong. It’s not sitting a special position. It’s ALL inside YOU and YOUR mind.
So, don’t let the practice put you in a box. Don’t limit yourself. Once you have developed the mental skill of deep mindfulness meditation, use it wherever and whenever you want. Use it for 20 minutes, if you want. But, also practice a 5 minute version or a 1 hour version – whatever fits your life.
That’s what we mean by “Mindfulness for the Modern World”.
